I would have to say that my favorite color is blue.

The blue of the sky.

Or the penetrating blue of the ocean.

Or the blue of a bluejay.

The animal I would most like to see in the wild would be the beastly Grizzly Bear. If you sit down and think about it the grizzly lives the perfect life. They get to eat all they want and be king of the wilderness for 2/3 of the year and then they get to sleep the rest of the time. They’re also omnivores so they get some variety in their diet, they don’t have to eat berries all year they can throw some salmon into the pot when the time comes around. They are just straight up beasts.

The question this week was how do we recycle at home and school.  I have to say that I don’t recycle very often. My family will do the recycling but I just forget or am to lazy to make the extra effort. I don’t think our school recycles that much as there are not many  opportunities at our school to do so.  Rather than the occasional box for cans and bottles or the boxes that are in a few of the teachers class rooms why don’t we have recycling cans as often or more often then trash cans.  I personally know that most of the stuff that I throw away is recycalable. Its not that I don’t want to its that there are not many options when it comes to getting rid of the trash. However more places rather than schools need to recycle, places such as churches, movie theaters, and government meetings.  This would be another incentive for everyday people to recycle.

The recession is affecting this nations teens in a very big way.  From family financial issues to the simple raising of prices at the supermarket these times are changing are youth in front of are very eyes.  President Obama held a press conference yesterday talking about the recession.  He discussed his stimulus package and the problems facings our economy in general.  I believe his plan will succeeded where George Bush’s failed.  He has been hounded by the Republicans in congress for outrageous spending while they tripled the national debt in 8 years.  They accuse him of throwing pork in while the projects they are talking about account for only 1 page of the bill he has put forward.  In conclusion we all need to support him now as at least he is doing something compared to the last administration who is responsible for this problem.

For this blog we had to listen to different pod casts then review one of them. The podcast I chose to review was on the book My Side Of The Mountain.  I found the blog interesting and informative. I liked the sound effects in the background as they helped take you to the place.  I liked that it was in 1st person as it sounded like a story.  It was interesting how they described the setting.  I liked how they had different voices for the different characters. It made the story seem more real to me and put me in the place.  It seemed to give the story a voice.  I wish it was longer though. It also could have talked about the author. I want to know what happened to the boy however and might read the book. It is going to help me when it is time for me to do my podcast.

We had drumline practice last Saturday.

My Sister and I were walking to the door to the house afterwards.

I had trouble walking since I had been marching for 9 hours.

The steps were also wet since it had rained all day.

I slipped on the steps and fell on my face.

It hurt and I had was in pain for a while.

Football Accident

“Hike” Yells the quarterback as the play starts. The receivers take off down field to run their routes as the defense rushes the qb. My neighbor and friend Timmy, who I invited to play, runs down field. He catches the ball and runs down field before being tackled. As I am looking from afar I think everything is fine until I hear a scream. I look downfield and see Timmy lying unconscious with blood on his face. He slowly gets up and stumbles around like a drunk before he falls back down. Someone runs inside to call 911 as I apply pressure with a torn up shirt to stop the bleeding. He is confused and doesn’t know where he is or what month it is, a sure concussion. We can hear the sirens now and are waiting for the help to get here. The mood was somber and serious until Timmy was offered cookies and if you knew Timmy he would never turn down cookies no matter the situation. Timmy replied to this “Hell yeah I want some cookies. Your the best doctor ever.” After this everyone was a little more at ease knowing that Timmy still had his sense of humor. The orange fire truck arrives and ambulance arrive and the paramedics run toward us. They ask him questions and wrap gauze around his head. I call his parents to come as we wait for the paramedics to finish. His parents arrive and talk to him while he gets ready to go to Sacred Heart Hospital. They leave as I realize that one moment can change you forever.

I am slightly technologically literate however I would not consider myself a wiz. I know how to work the computer at my house and my phone but I still can’t work the macs at schoool. I carry around a phone everyday and I text and call people on a regular basis. I also know how to work ipods since I’m on music duty in the car using my sisters touch. I learn how to use new devices through watching other people, or sometimes read a instruction book even though I’m a guy. When I was younger I was excited when we got a nintendo 64 as that was the cool thing to have and I learned how to use that. I also used my parents cell phone which were larger than our house phones today. As far as I am concerned it is going to be extremly important to be technologically literate in the future. Most if not all of the new jobs that are being created require the use of technology. I own a cell phone, a wii, and a computer and use these everyday. I want a ipod touch for christmas.
